Lesson 1 – Before you Begin

Congratulations! You’ve taken the first step to becoming a great guitarist.
First, don’t give up before you begin. I know it can be extremely intimidating to start since there’s someone to compare yourself to about every three feet J. But you have to determine now that you will discipline yourself and push through even when you don’t see immediate results.
Remember, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” (Confucius).
The key to becoming a great guitarist is practice, practice, practice. Because of this, you’re guitar needs to be easily accessible. If you keep in it the case all day, you will not be drawn to play with it. Even if it’s as little as five minutes, short practices throughout the day can drastically increase your skill.
When I first began playing guitar, this was one of the keys that allowed me to succeed.
Here are some sites I recommend to purchase a stand from. You can get a basic one for $5-$10. You can’t afford not to get one!

Hello, and welcome to Guitar Lessons Online 4 Free! It is my hope that these lessons will launch you on your ability to play guitar – regardless of your motivation to play. These fundamental lessons can be applied to any style of guitar that you are interested in. The guitar is one of the most versatile and easy instruments you could aspire to play. I know it can be very intimidating to start – I was there! But don’t let that stop you from trying. It doesn’t matter how bad you may think you are, keep practicing, keep playing, and keep loving the guitar. Determine right now that you won’t stop until you’ve mastered at least 5 songs and 10 chords. Then you can decide if you want to quit or not. I have a feeling, though, that you’ll keep going and become another satisfied musician. Good luck!
